Hidden gem on high street Kensington. Must try their Teriyaki bento meal, yasai sushi and mix tempura. If you love Japanese food and want to experience the same authentic taste of Japan that you may have tried in Japan, then look no further. Lovely service too. Can’t wait to go back again. Wish it was a bit nearer to us.

It was a nice and cute place. The restaurant is quite small so it does fill up quite fast. The food here was very nice. I had sushi when I visited but would love to come again to try other dishes. The sushi was prepared by two chefs behind a counter, you can see them prepare different dishes. The fish was fresh and was really good. Not a lot of people notice the rice that is used, but this place had perfect seasoning for the rice and was very soft. They had a lot of drink options and I tried a yuzu cocktail which was quite sweet and couldn’t taste the alcohol much so for cocktails K would recommend double shot rather than single. Their wasabi was such good quality too!!! It mixes with the soy sauce easily and tastes so good. Will be back soon!!!

Hands down the best sushi spot in London! Their sushi is filled with top quality fish and ingredients. Professionally handmade with precision, love and care. Their hot food is absolutely delicious. Kampai is one of the best Japanese restaurants in London! The staff are super friendly, professional and always willing to help. This is my Go-To spot for Japanese food in London! 5 stars!

Great authentic Japanese food along with updates to certain classics. Miso soup was perfection followed by a Salmon Poke bowl and a Toukanaga(sp?) bowl. Beautiful as delicious. Completed the meal with Yuzu sorbet and match ice cream. The service was attentive and fast. We will be back.

A solid sushi place one has to visit if you're craving any Japanese food. We had a few boats and everything was delicious

What a great find. On a search for some food, I came across Kampai. I got a takeaway. I returned today for another takeaway. I sat in a restaurant, which is a lovely environment. I decided to order a number of small plates so I could enjoy different flavours. I wasn't sorry. All tasted delicious. I don't know how they make aubergine taste this good! I couldn't even pick my favourite because I loved all of it. Happily will return again and luckily it's walking distance. If you plan to sit in, I would recommend a booking as I could see it was popular and it's only Thursday early evening.

Glad to have found a good Japanese place in this area. Tried the bento box set B and was very satisfied with the quality of all the dishes in the bento box. Great portion size which justified the price. Service and atmosphere of the place was also great. Will be back to try more of their dishes soon.

Beautiful, delicious food, bursting with flavour. Can't fault the experience. My husband and I had a bento box each and a dragon roll to share. I had the chicken teriyaki bento and was amazed at the depth of flavours with each bite, the charred flavours with the sweet and sticky sauce were perfectly balanced with the rice and the dressing in the salad. My husband had the tonkatsu bento box and he was also very happy with his choice. We were both pleasantly full and blown away by the quality and talent to prepare such dishes. Every aspect of the food was perfect and possibly the best Japanese restaurant we've been to which was a most pleasant surprise. It is incredible value for money. The service is great as well, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. We wanted to come back again to try their katsu curry but unfortunately we couldn't, as we were no longer in the area (we travelled all the way from Newcastle!). Next time we are in London, we will definitely make sure to visit again. Highly recommend!
